We are all called by God to “Defend the cause of the fatherless” (Isaiah 1:17) and TODAY the 5 million orphans of Ethiopia need YOU to be their voice.  The government of Ethiopia has announced plans to slow their international adoptions by 90%.  Many of the 4,000 Ethiopian orphans who are welcomed into loving families each year worldwide will now be forced to spend an extra 5 to 7 years in institutions without the love and care of a family. 

This slowdown will also jeopardize the ability of adoption service providers to continue their donation of orphan care and family preservation assistance to the 1.2 million vulnerable individuals who were helped in 2010.

It takes less than one minute to sign the petition that the Joint Council on International Children’s Services has put online.   They will deliver this petition to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, so you need to act TODAY.  Through this simple act, your signatures will provide hope for the voiceless children of Ethiopia.
