what's next...

We are unofficially #6 on the waitlist now! We are so close, I am praying and hoping for a December referral. It is very possible, but the not knowing when is hard. This past week I have had a very sad feeling come over me whenever I think about our daughter. I am wondering if this is the week she is being taken to the government orphanage or going through a big transition. The excitement of the process is turning a little more into reality as we see our daughter very soon and hear her story. We are so thankful that God is letting us be the parents of this child. But hurts to think about what is going on for another mom or dad that is having to relinquish there child.

For those of you wondering what happens when you get to #1 on the waitist...

1. We get THE CALL. Our case worker AGCI will call and tell us about the little girl they have for us that is within our age parameters as well as all the background history and medical records for her.

2. We complete the referral paperwork which includes speaking with an international pediatrician. Then that paperwork is translated and sent to Ethiopia and we wait for a Court Date. (maybe 6 weeks later)

3. Ian and I will fly to Ethiopia to meet our daughter and have our court appointment, We will be in Ethiopia for a week and will be coming home without her.

4. After we pass court we will be given an embassy date (about a month later) Then we will travel to Ethiopia again, get her visa and bring her HOME!

I'm crying for you that you have to leave her. Must be so hard knowing she is born & you can't be with her yet because you have to get through all of the bureaucracy first. Can't wait to see a pic of her at home in her crib!
